THE GATEWAY DINER

The Gateway Diner is an echo of the beloved American diners that are strewn along Highway 66, and like them plays jukebox classics all night long. Dinettes weave in and out of the red chrome booths and high stools. Sepia pictures of legends like James Dean and Buddy Holly line the interior alongside other 50's and 60's memorabilia.

And the Diner serves several dishes of the day including the Original Elvis and Richie Valens hamburgers with fries and salad. Buddy Holly and James Dean are also made to order as are hotdogs, sandwiches, soups and salads. Top the lot with chocolate brownies, Mom's apple pies, banana splits or ice cream sundaes. Dinettes 'don't give no drinks with funny umbrellas!' so don't go in search of the cocktail list, but the Diner does have quite a list of beers, wines and soft drinks and four flavours of the creamiest milkshakes.

Time warp that it is, the Gateway Diner is young and fun for casual diners and is an easy place to while away the time before take-off or waiting for arrivals as screens list all flight details. Parking spaces are easy to come by in the airport car park and, all in all, it's one cheap ticket to Graceland.

RUNWAY BISTRO

On the topmost floor of the Malta International Airport away from the hustle and bustle of the departure and arrival lounges, is the Runway Bistro which, as its name implies, offers a fantastic view of the airport's runway with all the activities and aircraft manoeuvres. So it's up and away to an extensive snack selection, full buffet, choice of grills, plat du jour and pizza. Whether it's a coffee or a full meal ... You're more than welcome.

CORINTHIA BAR (Departure Lounge)

The Corinthia Bar is located in the departure lounge area of the Airport. lt is open 24 hours a day and offers a full international bar with a selection of various sandwiches, rolls, hot snacks, sweets and a large selection of spirits, liqueurs and beverages. There is seating for 60.
